Pastor Lee E. Suggs, Sr.

Rev. Dr. Lee E. Suggs, Sr. is a native of Tarboro, North Carolina. His parents are the late William E. Suggs and Catherine C. Suggs, He is the oldest of four children to this union. His siblings are Carolyn Bandy, the late Cater Ray Suggs and Catherine Dale Suggs.

He is a 1970 graduate of W. A. Pattillo High School in Tarboro, NC and a 1975 graduate of Elizabeth City State University, in Elizabeth City NC, Where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

He is married to the former Juanita Porter, also a native of Tarboro, NC and they have two children, Latasha J. Suggs and Lee E. Suggs Jr. They have one grand–daughter Makayla R. Suggs. Pastor Suggs resides in Roanoke, VA and is retired from the Virginia Employment Commission.

Pastor Suggs was ordained as s deacon in 1982 and was licensed to preach the gospel on January 22, 1984 by the First Baptist Church of Vinton, Virginia, When Rev. Dr. H.A. Lindsey was Pastor. He was ordained into the ministry on July 22 1984, and was installed as the Pastor at First Baptist Church, Fincastle Virginia on September 16, 1984.

He attended Virginia Seminary and College in Lynchburg, Virginia in the Masters of Divinity Program. Where he received his Ministerial Certificate in 1986. He earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Bethlehem Bible College on May 12, 2000 and received his Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Bethlehem Bible College on June 28, 2002. Pastor Suggs is also a Certified Teacher with the Bethlehem Bible College.

Pastor Suggs served as Pastor of First Baptist Fincastle for eight years. He is presently the Pastor of Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church in Christiansburg, VA where he was installed as Pastor in June of 1992.
